The ICAM IAS Aspirating Smoke Detector, a flexible solution for fast and reliable smoke detection from Xtralis, was officially discontinued on 30th September 2021. The FAAST Flex has been designated as its alternative product. While the ICAM IAS range is no longer available, spare parts for the ICAM ILS remain, and customers should contact Eurofyre for stock enquiries.

The system operated by actively drawing air from a protected area via sampling pipes into a detection chamber. Here, conventional or analogue point detectors, compatible with photoelectric technology, analysed the air. The ICAM IAS offered seamless integration with existing fire alarm control panels, providing a discreet, tamper-proof, or replacement solution for traditional point detectors.

Available in single or dual inlet pipe configurations (IAS-1 or IAS-2), the system supported multiple detection strategies, including single/dual addressable area, redundant, multi-criteria, and coincident detection. It was valued for its cost-effectiveness and ease of installation. Key features included an IP65 enclosure, up to 50m per sampling pipe, microprocessor control, an integral display, a serviceable air filter, and adjustable aspirator speed. The ICAM IAS held full VdS approval and bore the CE mark, confirming compliance with EN54-20 standards and relevant EU directives.
