Lithium Ion Battery Off-Gas Detection

Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries, increasingly popular, present fire hazards if damaged, leading to thermal runaway. Traditional fire detection systems often fail to identify these events early, typically only reacting to smoke or flames when the fire is already advanced and difficult to contain.

The Li-ion Tamer GEN 3 system provides a proactive solution by detecting electrolyte vapours released during the “off-gas” stage of battery failure. This critical stage occurs significantly before thermal runaway, enabling facility managers to intervene during the very early signs of an impending event.
