Description

The VESDA-E filter is an internal, two-stage component designed for VESDA-E Aspirating Smoke Detectors to remove contaminants and protect the optical surfaces of the detection chamber. Intended for single use, it requires replacement at least every two years, or more frequently in polluted environments as indicated by the detector.

The system intelligently monitors filter condition; a correctly configured detector reports a fault if its internal dust meter exceeds a set limit and provides reminders based on the installation date. This ensures timely maintenance and continuous optimal performance.

Replacing the filter is a simple procedure. Users open the detector’s left-hand door, release the old yellow VSP-962 filter by pressing a tab and pivoting it out. The aspirator temporarily cuts out upon removal. The new VSP-962 filter is then inserted by locating its hinge and rotating it into place, which automatically restarts the aspirator, before the door is firmly closed.

These filters are compatible with VESDA-E VEP, VES, and VEU aspirating smoke detectors. They are available for purchase individually or in packs of 20, identified by part numbers VSP-962 and VSP-962-20.
