Description

The Crisis EVC Expander Panel forms a vital part of an Emergency Voice Communication System (EVCS), designed to provide secure, bi-directional, full-duplex voice communication. It assists firefighters during emergencies in high-rise buildings or large sites where standard radio communication might be unreliable. The system is fully compliant with BS5839-9:2011, functioning effectively as a fire telephone system, a disabled refuge system, or a combined unit.

This expander panel can support up to eight outstation lines, accommodating various types such as Type A fixed phones, Type B refuge hands-free points, or emergency assist call points. It features integrated networking capabilities, allowing it to connect with up to 64 panels and monitor a total of 512 outstations within a comprehensive Crisis EVC Network installation. A clear front display provides full status indication for local calls and faults, aiding in diagnostics.

The unit is housed within a compact, surface-mounted enclosure crafted from powder-coated zintec, making it ideal for installation in spaces like electrical risers. It includes LED indicators, dual line cards, and an EN54-4:A2 2006 power supply with an integrated battery charger, along with space for a 12V backup battery. Fourteen 20mm cable knock-outs facilitate all necessary connections.

Configuration of the expander panel is performed from any master station on the system using a spreadsheet, subsequently installed via an MMC card. Designed and manufactured in the UK, this panel ensures robust and reliable emergency communication.
