The Eurofyre Crisis Type B Refuge Induction Loop Outstation is an integral part of an Emergency Voice Communication System (EVCS), engineered to provide secure, bi-directional, full-duplex voice communication during emergencies. It is designed to assist firefighters and facilitate communication for those in disabled refuge locations within high-rise buildings or large complexes where radio signals may be unreliable.

This outstation is fully compliant with BS5839-9:2011, enabling its use as a fire telephone system (FT), a disabled refuge system (DRS), or a combined solution. A key feature is its integral audio frequency induction loop (AFILS), which has been specifically optimised to produce the required horizontal field, overcoming typical limitations of wall-mounted induction loops.

The unit is intended for placement in designated disabled refuge areas as specified by Building Regulations Approved Document B and BS9999:2008. Its design prioritises visibility and accessibility, featuring a high-contrast brushed stainless steel finish and a Braille-enhanced call button. The button’s LED changes colour to indicate its status: flashing green when normal, flashing red when ringing, and solid red once a call is connected.

For installation, the outstation should be mounted at a height of 1200mm from the finished floor level, adhering to Building Regulations Document M (Access for the Disabled) and BS5839-9:2011. Compatible with the entire range of Crisis master stations and system expander panels, the Type B outstation is fully monitored and battery-backed, available in both flush and surface mount configurations.
