The Crisis Jack Point Plate is a key component of Emergency Voice Communication (EVC) systems, designed to be used with Crisis Roaming Fire Telephones. These systems are primarily intended to provide clear and dependable communication for fire services in high-rise buildings, especially in scenarios where conventional radio systems might fail.

Fire fighters connect the roaming telephones to jack points, which are typically installed on each level of a building’s stairwell. This arrangement enables multiple levels on the same stairwell to be linked to a single circuit. The Crisis EVC system facilitates a ‘party line’ conversation, allowing up to five telephones on the same line to communicate concurrently with the master control station. These jack points are fully compatible with all Crisis EVC Master Stations and Network Expanders.

Despite being designed and manufactured in the UK, the Crisis Jack Point Plate and its associated roaming telephones are specifically intended for use in the Far East and Middle East markets. It is important to highlight that the use of these systems is strictly not permitted within the United Kingdom.

Beyond their primary communication function, the Jack Point Plate also offers an isolated volt-free contact. This feature signals when a roaming fire telephone has been inserted into the jack point, allowing the system to interface with and signal other building management or safety systems. The plate has compact dimensions of 86mm x 86mm x 22mm and weighs 0.2kg.
