The Crisis Type A Weatherproof Fire Telephone is a key component of Emergency Voice Communication Systems (EVCS), designed to provide secure, bi-directional voice communication during emergencies. Fully compliant with BS5839-9:2011 and other relevant standards, it functions as either a fire telephone (FT) or disabled refuge system (DRS), or as part of a combined system. These EVCS are crucial in high-rise buildings or large sites where conventional radio communication might be compromised by factors like fire-generated interference, assisting firefighters and other emergency personnel.

Specifically designed for use by trained staff such as fire marshals and stewards, the Type A outstation is suitable for outdoor environments. It features a robust, IP65-rated weatherproof enclosure, ensuring resilience against environmental conditions. The outstation is housed within a compact, externally signed enclosure, offering a choice of twist-lock or key-lock entry to reveal the handset for making a call.
