Knowledge BaseDescription
The FyreLine Analogue Polypropylene Linear Heat Detection (LHD) Cable offers a specialised fire detection solution, particularly effective in challenging environments. This self-restorable analogue system allows for precise detection at the point of risk and can incorporate an optional pre-alarm setting. It stands out for its low installation, maintenance, and repair costs, making it a dependable choice for various applications, including hazardous areas.
The polypropylene variant of this cable, though less common, is specifically designed for use in conditions where strong acids are present or in highly corrosive environments, owing to its superior toughness compared to PVC. Its construction involves a pair of copper conductors encased in a temperature-sensitive polymer, whose electrical resistance varies with temperature. This core is further enhanced with a calibration resistance core and an average ambient temperature sensor core, all shielded by foil and an outer polypropylene jacket.
The FyreLine analogue LHD cables have received robust industry approvals, including full certification by Underwriters Laboratories (UL 521) and adherence to the EN54:22 draft standard. The presence of the CE mark confirms its compliance with all relevant directives, such as the CPR, EMC, and Low Voltage Directive, underscoring its reliability for fire protective signalling systems.
Technically, the cable features an overall diameter of 4.57mm and an operational temperature range spanning from -40ºC to 125ºC. It can sustain continuous ambient temperatures up to 90ºC and includes RFI shielding for enhanced performance. Available in continuous lengths from 30.5 metres up to a maximum of 500 metres, it is offered in different part numbers to suit varying project requirements.
