The sensing cable is constructed from two twisted and tensioned tri-metallic conductors, each coated in a heat-sensitive polymer. When this polymer reaches its rated temperature, it melts, causing the conductors to touch and create a short circuit. This immediate signal is then transmitted to the fire alarm control panel, indicating the detection of excessive heat or fire. A notable benefit is the simple replacement process for any damaged cable sections post-activation.

Furthermore, the FyreLine Digital LHD cables boast comprehensive approvals, including full certification by Underwriters Laboratories (UL 521) for heat detectors within fire protective signalling systems.
