Description

The ProFyre Addressable Optical Smoke Detector is engineered to detect optically dense smoke, particularly from materials like soft furnishings, PVC, plastics, and foam, which produce small visible particles (0.5 to 10μm). It operates by utilising a pulsing infrared (IR) LED and a photo diode to sense IR scatter as smoke enters the detection chamber.

This detector is compatible with Eurofyre’s ProFyre A4 and A2 analogue addressable control panels, alongside the ProFyre T8 two-wire system. Its features include a low-profile design, 360-degree LED indication for all-round visibility, and a locking mechanism to prevent unauthorised removal from its base. It also provides a remote LED output and can be addressed using either dip switches or a hand-held programmer. For improved audibility, the device can be easily integrated with a sandwich sounder.

The ProFyre optical detector holds LPCB approval for safe installation and use throughout the European Union, evidenced by its CE mark which confirms compliance with directives such as CPR, EMC, and LVD. It adheres to the BS EN 54-7 standard for point smoke detectors. Key technical specifications include a coverage area of 100m², an operating voltage range of 10.50 to 33Vdc, and an operating temperature range from -10°C to +50°C.
