The Raptor Addressable Sounder with Visual Alarm Device (VAD) is a versatile component for addressable fire alarm systems, engineered to provide both audible and visual alerts. Designed for an electronics-free first fix installation, the unit is available in either red or white and allows users to select from sixteen distinct tones via the control panel.

The integrated VAD features a coverage pattern of W-3.0-8.7 7 and operates at an approved flash rate of 0.5 Hz. A key capability is its potential for independent triggering from the sounder, depending on control panel support. Addressing for the device can be configured using either an 8-way DIP switch or electronically via a handheld programmer.

Technical specifications underscore its robust construction, with an operating voltage range of 17 to 28Vdc. It maintains a low quiescent current of 1.50mA, increasing to between 18 and 43mA during an alarm. With an IP65 rating, the Raptor is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, functioning effectively across a wide temperature range from -25°C to 70°C.

The device boasts a high sound output of 96.9dB at 1 metre and offers user-selectable flash rates spanning from 0.33Hz to 1.5Hz. Its compact dimensions are 150mm x 146mm x 107.5mm, with a weight of 0.55kg.
