Description

The VIS-IR Thermography Detection Camera is a bi-spectral (infrared and visual) smart device engineered for early heat detection. It directly interfaces with fire alarm control panels, providing crucial pre-alarm, alarm, and fault condition alerts. This camera excels in challenging environments, such as waste recycling facilities, tunnels, and industrial sites, where high smoke or dust levels often impede traditional fire detectors and cause frequent false alarms.

Unlike conventional systems, the VIS-IR camera utilises long wavelength IR microbolometers to detect and pinpoint developing heat sources, operating effectively regardless of environmental conditions. Its bi-spectral capability allows users to switch seamlessly between IR and visual modes for comprehensive situational assessment. Furthermore, it can simultaneously monitor multiple Regions of Interest (ROI), activating alarms based on user-defined fixed temperatures or rates of rise within distinct zones.

Developed by Xtralis, a specialist in early warning systems, the VIS-IR also features continuous fault monitoring via an onboard failsafe relay. The accompanying ViSM (VIS-IR Software Management) software facilitates real-time configuration and remote monitoring, integrating both IR and video feeds for precise analysis and enabling rapid emergency response.

This technology is particularly suited to applications in waste management, food and drink processing, industrial areas, and the transportation sector. In these environments, quick and reliable fire detection is vital for preventing damage, mitigating safety risks, and ensuring operational continuity. The camera offers a wide detection temperature range of -5°C to 450°C.
