The Wi-Fyre Xenos Wireless Sounder VAD base is an advanced, high-performance device designed for fire detection systems, featuring an EN54-23 compliant Visual Alarm Device (VAD) to effectively alert individuals. This base is engineered for flexibility, allowing Xenos wireless detectors to be directly mounted onto it, or a sounder cover to be fitted if a detector is not required.

It offers extensive customisation with 32 distinct sounder tones and four levels of volume adjustment, alongside high and low power visual settings for varying alert requirements. Users can choose between red or white flash variants and corresponding blanking cap options, with all settings being easily configurable on-site. The device ensures reliable operation through bi-directional wireless communications and dual channel redundancy.

Powered by standard, low-cost lithium batteries, the unit boasts a typical battery lifespan of up to five years, contributing to its low maintenance. Its sophisticated radio signal processing algorithms are central to delivering high levels of life-safety and operational reliability. The wireless range is notable, extending over 1km in open air point-to-point, and capable of covering more than 8km when combined with up to eight expansion hops.

Technically, the base operates within an 868-870 MHz frequency range, with a maximum radiated power of 14dBm. It weighs 244g without batteries and measures 129 x 54mm. Designed for robust performance, it functions reliably in temperatures ranging from -10°C to +55°C with up to 95% non-condensing humidity, producing a sound output typically between 88-91dBA.
