Description

The FyreLine Digital Nylon LHD Cable, supplied by Eurofyre, offers a linear heat detection solution particularly suited for environments containing hazardous hydrocarbons such as fuel oils, diesel, and kerosene. Its black nylon coating provides superior mechanical protection compared to PVC and ensures UV resistance, making it suitable for direct sunlight exposure. This cable-based system is designed to detect heat precisely at the point of risk.

The sensing cable is constructed with two twisted, tensioned, tri-metallic conductors, each encased in a heat-sensitive polymer. When the ambient temperature reaches the cable’s rated threshold, this polymer melts, causing the conductors to short-circuit. This action transmits a signal to the fire alarm control panel, indicating the detection of fire or excessive heat. Once activated, the affected section of the cable can be easily replaced.

This system boasts low installation, maintenance, and repair costs, alongside a competitive material cost, positioning it as a reliable option for challenging industrial settings. The FyreLine Digital Nylon LHD Cable is fully approved by Underwriters Laboratories (UL 521) for heat detectors in fire protective signalling systems and carries the CE mark, confirming its compliance with relevant European Directives including CPR, EMC, and LVD.

Technically, the cable can support a maximum zone length of 3,000 metres and has an overall diameter of approximately 4.50mm. It is available in various alarm temperature ratings, such as 68°C, 88°C, and 105°C, in different lengths to suit diverse application requirements.
