The FyreLine Digital PVC Linear Heat Detection (LHD) Cable with Messenger Wire is a UL 521 approved system designed to detect excess heat at any point along its length. Once the cable’s rated temperature is reached, it signals a fire alarm control panel, providing reliable detection at the source of risk, even in hazardous areas. This solution offers low installation, maintenance, and repair costs, along with a low material cost.

The integrated messenger wire is a significant feature, enabling easier installation in challenging environments such as difficult-to-access areas or locations requiring large spans. The wire, spiralled around the cable, makes the detector cable self-supporting, simplifying the process where conventional fixing at regular intervals would be impractical or time-consuming.

Internally, the FyreLine Digital LHD cable consists of two twisted cores separated by an advanced temperature-sensitive polymer. Upon reaching its specific rated temperature, this polymer softens, allowing the cores to make contact. This contact triggers an alert to the fire alarm panel. It is an irreversible process, requiring the activated section of the cable to be replaced.

The cable, which features a standard PVC outer coating, is suitable for a wide array of applications. It holds full approval from Underwriters Laboratories (UL 521) and bears the CE mark, signifying compliance with relevant directives including CPR, EMC, and the Low Voltage Directive (LVD). Technical specifications include a maximum zone length of 3,000 metres and availability in various temperature ratings, such as 68°C, 88°C, and 105°C.
