Description

The OSID (Open-area Smoke Imaging Detection) Emitter, available from Eurofyre, represents an advancement in projected beam smoke detection. It utilises dual-wavelength projected beams and optical imaging to provide early warning smoke detection, overcoming traditional beam detection issues like false alarms and alignment difficulties. The system measures smoke levels by projecting light beams across a protected area. A single Imager can detect up to seven Emitters, ensuring wide coverage.

This innovative smoke detector uses dual-wavelength particle detection, emitting UV and IR pulses synchronised with the Imager to reject unwanted light. By using two wavelengths, the system differentiates particle sizes, enabling repeatable smoke obscuration measurements while ignoring dust or solid objects. An optical imaging array in the Imager provides a wide viewing angle, tracking multiple Emitters and tolerating less precise installation.

Installation and maintenance are simplified with surface-mountable components and easy alignment using a laser tool. The system is highly tolerant to dust and dirt, minimising maintenance to occasional cleaning. It features configurable alarm thresholds, status LEDs, and relay outputs.

The OSID system is VdS approved and CE marked, complying with relevant EU directives. It’s configurable with different Imagers, each offering varied fields of view and detection ranges. Eurofyre offers the OSID Emitter in standard and high power versions, both wired and battery-powered.
