Description

The ProFyre Conventional Optical Detector is a key component for fire alarm systems, utilising a pulsing infrared (IR) LED and photo diode to detect IR scatter from smoke. This technology makes it particularly effective at identifying optically dense smoke, typically generated by materials such as soft furnishings, PVC, plastic, and foam.

Key features include a low-profile design, 360-degree LED indication for clear status, a locking mechanism to prevent unauthorised removal, and a remote LED output. Housed in a stylish moulding, the detector is specifically designed to complement the ProFyre C8 and C24 conventional control panels.

Fully LPCB approved, the detector ensures safe use and installation across European Union countries. It also bears the CE mark, confirming compliance with relevant directives (CPR, EMC, LVD) and meets the rigorous EN54-7 standard for point smoke detectors.

Operating on 10.50 to 33Vdc, the device draws 40μA quiescent current, rising to 35mA in alarm, and covers approximately 100m². Designed for indoor use, it functions reliably from -10°C to +50°C with up to 95% non-condensing humidity.
