The Testifire CO Capsule (TS3) is specifically designed for use with Testifire 1001 and 2001 Detector Testers, providing a distinctive method for CO stimulus. Unlike conventional pressurised CO canisters, this capsule generates carbon monoxide on demand from activated carbon, eliminating stored pressure. This design ensures it is non-pressurised, easier to store, non-flammable, and produces a safe amount of CO that poses no health risk.

Each capsule delivers between 50 and 150 tests, the exact number varying with the response time of the detectors being tested. This offers significant efficiency compared to aerosol alternatives, typically providing four to eight times more tests. The text details a straightforward process for capsule maintenance, involving gentle removal of a used capsule by squeezing its clips and careful insertion of a new one, ensuring the spring clip protector cap is detached and the capsule is correctly seated.

Technically, the CO capsule is characterised by a clear liquid appearance with no discernible odour. It is classified as non-flammable and non-explosive, possessing an auto-ignition point of 270°C and a boiling point of 100°C.
